Ciudad Juarez, also known as Paso del Norte, is located next to the Rio Bravo (Rio Grande), which serves as boundary between Mexico and the United States. It is connected with its twin city, El Paso, Texas, by four bridges and comprises a total metropolitan area of more than 2 million people. Ciudad Juarez is home to lots of factories, and commerce is the essential part of the economy.

The landscape in this booming border city is truly amazing. To the south is the majestic white Salamayuca desert, and in the north the impressive Rio Grande. Ciudad Juarez is the most important city in the state of Chihuahua and is the sixth largest in the country. The city got its name from Benito Juarez Garcia, who led the Mexican army during the French occupation and consequently overthrew the Empire.
